A note from our founder, Annette

For 22 years, it has been my mission to advocate for dancers through my dancewear—dancewear that prioritizes elegance, comfort, and design. Too often, these elements are left out of the equation. We've been told that to be a dancer, you must endure discomfort... but does it really have to be that way? When people ask me, "Why do you create dance costumes, and why now?" I reply, "Have you ever danced on stage in a costume that just doesn’t fit?" I've been dreaming of creating comfortable, elegant dancewear since my daughter, Alejandra, first started wearing dance costumes. But finding the time to sit down and design always seemed impossible. I longed to create a completely new kind of leotard—something that sparked playfulness and excitement, something I’d be proud to offer dancers.

AA Dance Costumes is more than just a dancewear company. It represents years of innovation and iteration. We broke the rules of the dance industry by developing a new pattern—one that addresses many of the major pain points dancers experience. I hope AA Dance Costumes inspire dancers to reach new heights, push the boundaries of dance, and never settle. Not in life... and not in fashion. AA Dance Costumes are my love letter to every dancer who has taken off an ill-fitting costume after a competition, who wears essential dancewear to practice, and who thought her days of wearing elegant, high-performance costumes were over. I hope AA Dance Costumes give dancers the confidence to chase their dreams. After all, it’s hard to change the world when you don’t have the right dance costume.
